The Visserij Coöperatie Urk (Urk Fishing Cooperative, VCU) has been a household name in the maritime world for more than ninety years. As a professional maritime specialist, VCU offers a full-service concept of goods and services.
Operations
VCU is engaged in collective oil purchasing, and it has a technical department, a maritime department, a shop and a security centre. A quick ‘pit stop’ at VCU is all you need to equip your sailing company with all the requisite supplies in one go. We also stock many things private customers need.

Branches of sport
The Visserij Coöperatie Urk has three modern business premises in Urk. The head office, together with VCU Store BV and VCU Safety Centre BV, is located on Vliestroom. VCU TCD BV is located on Keteldiep. VCU TCD BV specialises in technical services and carrying out repairs, overhauls, conversions (including large-scale ones), decommissioning and the new construction of all kinds of ships. In addition, TCD specialises in the manufacture of winches and associated hydraulic systems, under the name of “Osey Urk Winches”. VCU’s modern vehicle fleet consists of service vans and crane trucks which are used so deliveries and on-site repairs can be carried out quickly.
Worldwide
VCU operates mainly in the Netherlands, Denmark and France, but by now it has extended its boundaries considerably. In a joint venture with Piet Brouwer Power Solutions, it manufactures bespoke generator sets, which have already been installed at sites in Africa, Asia and Central America.
