Zeekadetkorps Urk (special member)

The 'Zeekadetkorps' is a maritime youth association for boys and girls aged between 11 and 18. Zeekadetkorps Nederland consists of 19 corps in total, of which Zeekadetkorps Urk is one. Cadets contribute to everything there is to do on board. That way, you work together and afterwards you can be proud of what you have achieved. To get all this done in an organised way, we have divided the tasks into different service branches. The service divisions we have at the Sea Cadet Corps are: the operational/nautical service, the liaison service, the logistics service and the technical service.

Every Saturday (except for school holidays), the cadets meet on board from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. and are engaged in activities including:

- Sailing, motor boating and rowing.
- Providing hot meals for the crew.
- Maintaining the North Crown, small craft and other equipment.

During the winter months, theoretical instructions include sailing. Practical instruction takes place throughout the year, during the above activities.
