Major refit of fishing vessel (flyshoother) UK-22
VCU completed the major refit of fishing vessel (flyshooter) UK-22 “STELLA POLARIS” in port of Urk. A special job for VCU-TCD. The refit and extension (1 meter) of the UK 22 - Stella Polaris. Special because only the underwater hull, engine, propeller and propeller shaft were reused. Everything else was renewed.
The flyshooter came to the side in March, after which the demolition workers got to work. Subsequently, the ship was cut into two pieces at the yard of Balk for an extension and rebuilt with a new steering cover.
Skipper Pauw Romkes is very proud of the work that has been delivered and makes his compliments to Meindert Bakker of the VCU-TCD and of course everyone who has made this project a success.
Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology and De Boer Marine also collaborated on this project from the Urk Maritime cluster. See the film and photos below for a nice impression of this project.
